Ecological Inventory
Streamline
conducts fish, wildlife and vegetation surveys to inventory key habitats and
species, and assess the condition, productivity and inherent values of
ecosystems. Our projects span terrestrial, marine, and freshwater ecosystems.
The overall objective of these studies is to determine the presence and
distribution of sensitive and valued ecosystem components so that these resource
values can be protected.
Developing an understanding of ecological values within a project area is
essential to sound planning and resource management. Ecological surveys,
assessments and inventories are undertaken to support a variety of projects and
programs, including:
pre-development baseline surveys for environmental impact assessment
ecological inventory for land and resource use planning
fish stream classification under the Forest Practices Code and Private Land Forest Practices Regulation
fish stream habitat assessments to identify degraded habitats and support watershed restoration planning
environmental quality assessment and monitoring.
